Since June 2021, the Shipping Pricing Addon is bundled with the Currency Switcher. The addon allows to enter shipping costs manually, in each currency, for the following shipping methods:

  1. Flat Rate
  2. Free Shipping (set the threshold)
  3. Table Rates Shipping, by Bolder Elements.

Important notes

  • The Shipping Pricing addon doesn't support the official Table Rates Shipping plugin. That's because the official plugin used hard-coded logic, which can't be extended to support currency-specific costs.
  • It could be possible to extend the shipping cost feature to other shipping plugin, by writing a dedicated customisation. If you would like to discuss such implementation, please feel free to contact us, and we will get back to you with a quote for the work.

1. How to enter shipping costs manually, in each currency

You can enter shipping costs manually, in each currency, by following the steps listed below:

  1. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping.
  2. Click on a shipping zone. Example:
  3. Use the currency selector at the top of the page to choose the currency for which you wish to set the shipping costs.

Important: you should always enter shipping costs in shop's base currency. They are used as a reference to calculate all the shipping costs for which a value has not been entered manually.
  4. Click on one of the shipping methods.
  5. On the page that opens, enable the option "Enable custom settings for this currency" and enter the cost in the selected currency.

Note: the option "Enable custom settings for this currency" is not displayed for the shop's base currency. This is because shipping costs in shop's base currency must always be entered.
  6. Save the shipping method's settings.
  7. Repeat steps from #4 to #6 to configure the next shipping method in the same shipping zone, in the selected currency.
  8. Choose another currency, in the same shipping zone, and configure the shipping methods.
  9. Repeat the steps for other shipping zones.

With the above, you can configure the costs for all the shipping methods, in each currency.

2. How to go back to the manual conversion of the shipping costs

If you wish to restore the manual conversion of shipping costs, you can proceed as follows:

  1. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping.
  2. Click on a shipping zone.
  3. Use the currency selector at the top of the page to choose the currency for which you wish to set the shipping costs.
  4. Click on one of the shipping methods.
  5. On the page that opens, disable the option "Enable custom settings for this currency" and enter the cost in the selected currency. You won't have to remove the shipping costs you entered, they will just be ignored.
  6. Save the shipping method's settings.
  7. Repeat the steps for the other shipping methods, as needed.
